Dosage forms
What we prepare.
- Topical cream
- Dispensed in a metered airless pump so every dose is the same size.
- Troches
- Dissolved between cheek and gum. Useful when skin transfer is a concern.
- Capsules
- Oral, including sustained release.
- Vaginal inserts and creams
- Suppositories, inserts, and applicator creams.
- Sublingual drops
- For small doses and easy titration.
Note Testosterone is a Schedule III controlled substance. Send it by EPCS or a written prescription with your DEA number.
Using it
How to take it.
- Creams go on thin skin where they absorb well: inner forearm, inner thigh, behind the knee. Rotate the site so one patch of skin is not doing all the work.
- Wash your hands after every application, and keep the treated skin covered until it dries. Hormone cream transfers to other people and to pets by touch.
- Troches are dissolved, not chewed and not swallowed whole.
- Apply at the same time each day. Consistency matters more with hormones than with most things we make.
Storing it
How to keep it.
- Room temperature unless your label says otherwise.
- Keep the pump upright. An airless pump loses its dose accuracy if it is stored on its side.
- Out of reach of children and pets, always.
